About The Container Store

The Container Store opened in 1978 to much fanfare. Some said, “A store that sells empty boxes?” But the 1,600-square-foot store in Dallas ended up being much more than that. It was a store devoted to helping people simplify their lives and originated the storage and organization category of retailing. Today, with locations across the country, we offer 10,000 products coupled with expert customer service. Since our inception, we have nurtured an employee-first culture filled with an intense commitment to communication, training (more than 263 hours for first-year, full-time employees) and opportunity coupled with a high level of customer service.

We know if we take better care of our employees than anyone else, they will take better care of our customers than any other retailer.The business is run on a set of seven Foundation Principles that guide each decision we make for our employees, customers, vendors and community.
